Look at everything as though you were seeing it for either the first or last time…then your time on earth will be filled with glory. –Betsy Smith, American Writer (1896-1972)
Life is so short. A lot of the time we just breeze through life without taking it all in. We become consumed by the concerns of this world. But, it’s important to stop for a moment and take it all in.
If you look at all that is around you as if for the first or last time it opens up a sense of wonder and appreciation in your heart for what you’ve been given. You stop taking things for granted. You stop to actually smell the roses. To watch the clouds in the sky. To hear the birds sing. To listen to the joyful laugh of a child. When you look at life in this way all that God has given you, big and small, becomes that much more precious. Tomorrow after all is never promised to anyone.
So, while you are here you should treasure what you’ve been given and thank God for the blessing of now. Tell your family and friends you love them NOW. Make peace NOW. Forgive NOW. Ask for forgiveness NOW. Repent and get right with God NOW. Come to Christ NOW. Read your Bible NOW. Pray NOW. Tell others about Christ NOW. Live your dreams NOW. Be who God has called you to be NOW. Stand for God NOW. Do the right thing NOW. All that you know that you need to do and aren’t doing do it NOW!
Live everyday like it’s your first and last day and allow the discoveries that new beginnings can bring and the appreciation of NOW that knowing God may call you home tomorrow fill your heart. If you will do this simple thing you’ll cherish God’s blessings to you so much more, and you life will never be the same again.
