Nobody wants to be who there are anymore. They want to be like everybody else. Turn on the TV,open a magazine,go on the internet and get bombarded by unnatural, photoshopped images of celebrities and models. The world tells us that these people are the gold standard of beauty, and that if you don’t look like them you’re nothing. To that I say ‘I don’t think so!’
The world says that if your skin isn’t light enough you aren’t beautiful. If you’re body isn’t slim enough you aren’t beautiful. If your smile isn’t just right, or you’re too short, too tall, too something, you aren’t beautiful. Well let me tell you something. God’s standard of beauty and the world’s standard are completely different. The world tells you that your worth is tied to how you look, what you own and what you do. But God looks at the inside; at the heart.
The world says that you have to fit their mold, their view of what is good and acceptable. But God says that you are just right. Psalm 139:14 KJV says that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. If God says that you are beautiful just the way you are, and He made you, what does it matter what others say? Yes, cruel words hurt. Sometimes they hurt us to the core of who we are. You can murder a person with words. But that doesn’t mean that the hurtful things people say are true. Maybe you don’t match up with the worlds standard of beauty. So what? God says that I’m fearfully and wonderfully made. Whose opinion is greater than God’s? No ones is! You must learn to love yourself and start believing what God says about you. There are things far greater in this life than beauty and material possessions. Don’t let the lies the world spits to you fool you.
Don’t make yourself miserable because you can’t match up to some unnatural standard that the world tries to put upon you. Shake that mess off! Seek to be more like Christ, and not some celebrity that might not even be saved.
You are so beautiful just the way you are. You are fearfully and wonderfully made just as you are. Believe it. I do.
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Psalm 139:14 KJV
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 KJV
Lord bless you all
