Merry Christmas everyone! I hope that you all are enjoying your day and that it is blessed and full of joy. I just wanted to take a minute to remind everyone that while it’s nice to get presents and sing songs and stuff ourselves with Christmas goodies, it’s more important to remember why we celebrate Christmas at all.
We celebrate Christmas to celebrate God’s gift to us–Jesus Christ! There is no greater gift than Jesus Christ Himself. It’s not about toys, food, trees, gifts and certainly not about Santa Claus! We are in a time where people are trying their best to remove Jesus Christ from Christmas. People don’t want to say “Merry Christmas” anymore. It’s “Happy Holidays” and some don’t even say that. It’s just not Politically Correct anymore to say “Merry Christmas.” I say forget that! No one will ever get me to remove Jesus Christ from Christmas. It’s all about Him anyway. It’s just not going to happen!
More than likely Jesus Christ wasn’t born in the winter but the spring or fall. No one knows for sure when He was born. Regardless of when it was, December 25th is when we take the time to celebrate the day that He entered the world as a baby in a manger. The day Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, humbled Himself and entered the world as a baby so that He could one day pay the ultimate price to save the world and draw us to Himself. What a most amazing gift.
Now the world wants to keep us from acknowledging Christ and His gift to us. Will you allow it?
Have you fallen in line with the world and stopped saying Merry Christmas, but instead say Happy Holidays? Or something else that the world claims is more P.C.? Have you been ashamed of Jesus Christ this Christmas? Have you been ashamed to proclaim Him and His Most Holy Name this Christmas season? Have you been more focused on things and stuff, telling your kids stories of Reindeer’s and an old man in a red suit with a sleigh full of toys? Have you forgotten the REAL and TRUE reason for the season? I promise you it has nothing to do with Santa Claus, food (no matter how good it is), a tree (no matter how pretty it is), or toys and things ( no matter how much you may want or need them), and everything to do with Jesus Christ.
So lets enjoy our blessings this Christmas. But let’s not allow our blessings to take the place of who this day is about! And why we are really supposed to be celebrating. Don’t allow the world and their secular, godless hype cause you to forget Jesus Christ this season. Remember that we are to change the world and bring them to Christ. We are not to change to fall in step with the world. Ever! Be a light this Christmas in a sea of darkness. Represent Christ all year-long.
JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON! The world may hate it but I say it loud and proud “MERRY CHRISTMAS!”
Scroll down and read the Christmas story about the first Christmas when God gave Jesus to the world in Luke 2:4-14. This is taken from the King James Bible. Make it a habit of reading it to yourself and your family every year. Enjoy!
