See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise.” Ephesians 5:15 KJV
Circumspect means to be watchful; take heed. To be cautious and prudent. Be watchful on all sides
Life is full of pitfalls. If we are not careful we can end up far from God. Everyday we must choose whether you will live right or not or do right or not. No one else can make the choice for you. You will either honor God this day and everyday or you will not.
To walk circumspectly is to walk in holiness. Foolish men and women don’t know they are headed for destruction. They live according to their flesh with no thought to where their choices will lead them. But as believers in Christ Jesus we are to know where we are going. And we must be mindful of how we live our lives, so as not to become lost during our spiritual journey and separated from God.
Walking circumspectly can be hard. There are plenty of opportunities to do wrong everyday. Temptation is all around us. That’s why we must keep our eyes on God always, and lean on Him for strength to overcome the things that come our way. You must walk out each day with your eyes wide open and with great care or you will fall. You must take notice of your circumstances and always be on the lookout for people, places, things and situations that will take your eyes off of God and lead you into sin.
Fools walk with their eyes closed and fall into darkness. Fools walk after the flesh. But we are called to be wise and walk hard after God; to walk hard after Jesus. Wise men and women are led by the Holy Spirit and not the false glamor of the world. Wise men and women strive to be like and walk like Jesus. We may fall short but we are to never give up.
We can not neglect our souls and our relationship with Christ and expect to finish the race of life well. Make up your mind and do your best to watch how you walk out this life. It won’t be easy. But with Jesus Christ we can do anything. I’m praying for you!
