When someone has done you wrong, especially when it was deliberate, the last thing you want to do to that person is bless them. You want to scream, yell, cuss the person out, or maybe even beat them down, and then perhaps you will consider extolling a blessing or even forgiveness. But that’s not how we are called to be as Believers in Christ. We are clearly told in God’s Word that when we are mistreated we are to bless the person that committed the wrong against us instead of retaliating. (1 Peter 3:9 KJV)
When we bless others instead of seeking revenge the world see’s Christ working in us because it is not man’s nature to respond with blessings when having been done wrong, but with curses. It will become obvious to others that Christ is indeed working in your life, and giving you the strength and resolve that you need to take the high road, and not the low road that your enemy chose to take.
When we seek to please God and not ourselves and put His will before our own, and not give into our sin nature God blesses us. Choose to be a blessing to others even when it’s hard, and God will bless you as well.
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, they ye should inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:9
Lord bless you all,
