Heaven or Hell? It’s Your Choice

Heaven or Hell by Haneefah Turner

One of the common refrains of unbelievers is that they don’t believe that a loving God would send anyone to Hell. They have a false sense of security. So they persist in living a life that is sinful and hateful to God because of their unbelief in a place of eternal punishment.

They truth is that in a way they are absolutely right. God doesn’t send people to Hell. The people send themselves there. God made a Continue reading

Let Him Bless You

God loves us so much. He blesses us so much and they are immeasurable. It’s amazing to me how He can love us so much when we are obviously so undeserving. But I am truly grateful for His blessings.

God’s Word tells us that He will withhold nothing from those that love Him. God enjoys blessing us. He wants to do that. But many times instead of opening ourselves up to receive the great things God has for us we cling to what we believe is best. We often come to God with our minds made up about what we think we truly want and need, without ever asking God if that’s truly His will for us.

It’s not wrong Continue reading

He Paid It All

We are all so blessed. We have been given a gift that none of us deserves. Yet Jesus laid down His life for us anyway. All who choose to follow Him now have Eternal Life. Through Jesus we have been reconciled to God. He didn’t have to do what He did for us but He did it because He loves us. How amazing is that. Jesus died to pay for our sins so that we could be free from them. He freed us from the bondages of sin and death. We have been made new through Christ. It’s almost too much to comprehend.

He died and Continue reading

Change Your Mind, Change Your Habits

None of us are exempt

We all have bad habits. None of us are exempt. Though we may wish that we were. However there is a way to get rid of them. We must learn to replace our ugly habits with good ones! It sounds easy enough, but it can be hard. Yet, it is required of us all.

More than quirks

When we give our lives to Christ we become new. All of us are told to turn from our sinful ways. A lot of the times we don’t view our bad habits as sin. We usually view them as quirks in our personalities. “That’s just the way I am!” That’s a favorite excuse. But I’ve got a newsflash for you. That’s not just the way you are. There I said it. They are not just quirks in our personalities. Bad habits are sins that need to be shed.

Changing your mind

It is possible for us to get rid of our bad habits. But it’s not easy. It won’t happen overnight. And it starts with your thoughts. Philippians 4:8 tells us

“Finally Continue reading

Evict Unforgiveness From Your Life

I heard a quote once that wasn’t only intriguing but rooted in truth. It said that “Holding a grudge is allowing someone to live rent free in your head.” That is so true. You are giving people room in your life that don’t belong there when you hold grudges. Cut people loose from your life when they don’t belong there. Forgive them and move on. Give the issue to Jesus and give the offender an eviction notice!

I know people who love to hold grudges. It amazes me. And when you call them out on it they get offended. They don’t realize the spiritual harm that they do to themselves. It’s such a Continue reading

When You’ve Done All You Can, STAND!

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” – Ephesians 6:13 KJV

You have all that you need

We have all that we need to stand strong when life gets crazy. God has given us spiritual armor to wear to protect is in spiritual battle. We are to put it on daily so that we are always ready and protected from the wicked plans of the enemy. Are you wearing yours?

“… And having done all, to stand.”

When the battles start we are usually caught off guard. And our first instinct isn’t always to fight but to run. You either go into denial or fear comes and paralyzes you. You want to cry. Or lie down in bed and pull the covers over your head and hope it will all go away. But God said to stand. Don’t run. Don’t hide. Don’t lie down. But Continue reading

Watch How You Walk

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise.” Ephesians 5:15 KJV

Circumspect means to be watchful; take heed. To be cautious and prudent. Be watchful on all sides

Life is full of pitfalls. If we are not careful we can end up far from God. Everyday we must choose whether you will live right or not or do right or not. No one else can make the choice for you. You will either honor God this day and everyday or you will not.

To walk circumspectly is to walk in holiness. Foolish men and women don’t know they are headed for destruction. They live according to their flesh with no thought to where their choices will lead them. But as Continue reading

It’s The Thought That Counts

Have you ever really wanted to help someone financially but you honestly couldn’t? I know in these economic times being able to give when you may be in need yourself is tough. You turn on the TV and see poor hungry children starving to death and you want to help, but you can’t. Or you learn about natural disasters taking place in all over the world. People are dying or becoming homeless and you would love to help out, but there is no way. You may be having a hard time paying all of your bills, keeping food on the table, providing for yourself or your family. And there is just no way you can afford to open your pocket book for another. It’s rough.

I was going through Continue reading

Thoughts of Peace and Not of Evil

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

Why is it that when things go wrong one of the first things that people do is blame God? God is not responsible for the ugly things in our lives. God’s thoughts for us are of peace and love, never evil. We are quick to forget that when bad things come our way or we don’t get our way. It is because He loves that we don’t always get our way. God’s plans for us are far greater than our plans for ourselves.

It is because Continue reading

A New Year, A New Beginning

With a new year comes new challenges. But it also brings with it new opportunities. Some people look at the new year with dread. They whine and complain. “Another year has been lost and wasted. Here’s to another year and my dreams have not come true. I’m still struggling. Things are still hard. Life is still rough. When am I going to get my time to shine? When do I catch a break?”

I know that feeling. It’s that feeling of not knowing your purpose; of feeling that your sorrow is unending. “Why am I here Lord? Is this all there is?” I’m here to tell you that things do get better. But it takes time. Joy does come in the morning. It’s hard to believe that when you wake up and you’re facing Continue reading
