Are You Too Comfortable to Thank God?

Are you thankful for your blessings? I admit that I don’t always stop to take stock of all the blessings that God has given to me. Not because I am ungrateful, but because sometimes I am too comfortable. Sometimes I take my blessings for granted. This is something that we all do at times. It’s usually only when our comfort is threatened or removed that we realize how blessed we have been.

I want to encourage you today to Continue reading

Bless Your Enemies and God Will Bless You

When someone has done you wrong, especially when it was deliberate, the last thing you want to do to that person is bless them. You want to scream, yell, cuss the person out, or maybe even beat them down, and then perhaps you will consider extolling a blessing or even forgiveness. But that’s not Continue reading

Real Contentment: Is God Enough?

When we have a little we want more. When we have enough it’s still never enough. It’s a vicious cycle that keeps our minds constantly on what we want and how to get it instead of being content with what we have. It’s as if our desire for more is like a thirst that can never be quenched.

The truth is that even Continue reading

Let Him Bless You

God loves us so much. He blesses us so much and they are immeasurable. It’s amazing to me how He can love us so much when we are obviously so undeserving. But I am truly grateful for His blessings.

God’s Word tells us that He will withhold nothing from those that love Him. God enjoys blessing us. He wants to do that. But many times instead of opening ourselves up to receive the great things God has for us we cling to what we believe is best. We often come to God with our minds made up about what we think we truly want and need, without ever asking God if that’s truly His will for us.

It’s not wrong Continue reading

It’s The Thought That Counts

Have you ever really wanted to help someone financially but you honestly couldn’t? I know in these economic times being able to give when you may be in need yourself is tough. You turn on the TV and see poor hungry children starving to death and you want to help, but you can’t. Or you learn about natural disasters taking place in all over the world. People are dying or becoming homeless and you would love to help out, but there is no way. You may be having a hard time paying all of your bills, keeping food on the table, providing for yourself or your family. And there is just no way you can afford to open your pocket book for another. It’s rough.

I was going through Continue reading

Thoughts of Peace and Not of Evil

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

Why is it that when things go wrong one of the first things that people do is blame God? God is not responsible for the ugly things in our lives. God’s thoughts for us are of peace and love, never evil. We are quick to forget that when bad things come our way or we don’t get our way. It is because He loves that we don’t always get our way. God’s plans for us are far greater than our plans for ourselves.

It is because Continue reading

A New Year, A New Beginning

With a new year comes new challenges. But it also brings with it new opportunities. Some people look at the new year with dread. They whine and complain. “Another year has been lost and wasted. Here’s to another year and my dreams have not come true. I’m still struggling. Things are still hard. Life is still rough. When am I going to get my time to shine? When do I catch a break?”

I know that feeling. It’s that feeling of not knowing your purpose; of feeling that your sorrow is unending. “Why am I here Lord? Is this all there is?” I’m here to tell you that things do get better. But it takes time. Joy does come in the morning. It’s hard to believe that when you wake up and you’re facing Continue reading

I just want to Continue reading

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope that your Thanksgiving is fun, beautiful and blessed. Be sure to eat a lot and enjoy time with your family and friends. Don’t forget to thank the Lord for blessing you to see such a beautiful day and have the opportunity to be with those you love. Thank Him for all that He has done for you and how much He has blessed you. We have NOTHING and are NOTHING without God.

Thanksgiving is about so much more than food, turkeys and stuffing ourselves silly. Although one of the best parts about the day is eating all of that delicious food and fellowshipping with the ones we love. It’s about Continue reading

God Is Not Your Puppet

“Jesus answered them and said, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, ye seek me not because you saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.” — John 6:26 KJV

“(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:32-33 KJV

Why do you serve Jesus? Do you serve Him because you truly love Him? Or do you serve Him because of what you think you can get from Him?

A lot of Pastors today teach serving God for things is good. Their self-centered and deceitful teachings tell people to come to Jesus Christ, not because they have sinned against Him and are lost, and yes, destined for Hell because of their sin against God, but that Jesus made a way out for them by dying for them. But, they tell them to come to Him to get the blessings out of His hand.

Come to God because He has a “wonderful plan for your life.” Come to God and find happiness, joy, peace, money, houses, cars, a new job, and the list goes on and on. They teach people Continue reading
