People can’t always be trusted. At least not 100% of the time. As imperfect people it is impossible for us to behave perfectly at all times. Most people mean well but because of our imperfections we will always fall short. People break promises, lie, cheat, steal, break hearts, and will sometimes even betray you. That doesn’t mean that you should live your life in fear of being hurt or suspicious of all people. That’s neither a healthy or Godly way to live. But it’s important to never put people in God’s place.

Look to the Lord when times are hard. Often times we want to run from Him and wallow in our pain and despair. We feel as if we are too broken and pathetic to come to Him. But the truth is that He’s waiting for you to stretch out your hand to Him so that He can give you the help you need and lift you up. Now is not the time to run from Him, but to Him.

Nothing that we do for God is in vain. Your life is not a waste. Everything that you have invested into the Kingdom of God matters to God. Everything you have suffered, every tear you have shed as you have gone about your Father’s business will never be in vain. It’s so easy to get far from God. We allow life to take our attention away from our First Love. We put our careers, marriages, children, entertainment, ambition, relationships and a whole host of other things, into first place.

God loves us so much. He blesses us so much and they are immeasurable. It’s amazing to me how He can love us so much when we are obviously so undeserving. But I am truly grateful for His blessings.

God’s Word tells us that He will withhold nothing from those that love Him. God enjoys blessing us. He wants to do that. But many times instead of opening ourselves up to receive the great things God has for us we cling to what we believe is best. We often come to God with our minds made up about what we think we truly want and need, without ever asking God if that’s truly His will for us.

We are all so blessed. We have been given a gift that none of us deserves. Yet Jesus laid down His life for us anyway. All who choose to follow Him now have Eternal Life. Through Jesus we have been reconciled to God. He didn’t have to do what He did for us but He did it because He loves us. How amazing is that. Jesus died to pay for our sins so that we could be free from them. He freed us from the bondages of sin and death. We have been made new through Christ. It’s almost too much to comprehend.

Why is it that when things go wrong one of the first things that people do is blame God? God is not responsible for the ugly things in our lives.
