Gigi’s Big Break DVD Review – Based on the Books Gigi, God’s Little Princess by Sheila Walsh

Sheila Walsh’s Gigi’s Big Break

Gigi’s Big Break was a wonderful DVD for young girls. Gigi’s Big Break is based on the books Gigi, God’s Little Princess, written by author, singer and former host of the 700 Club Sheila Walsh, and tells the story of  a young Christian girl named Gigi as she learns life’s lessons and how to live for the Lord.

Each DVD contains two stories and is based on a Bible verse.

In the first video “The White Lie” after breaking a vase in the living room while dancing Gigi tells many lies to try to hide her crime as well as her guilt and shame. Gigi soon learns that it does not pay to be untruthful, and that to lie will always create more problems than it solves. It is a cute story about honesty and God’s forgiveness. Based on 1 John 1:8-9.

In the second video “The Pink Surprise” all is well in Gigi’s world until she finds out that her Mother is pregnant. Initially she is very excited until her young friends lead her to believe that siblings are nothing but a pain, and that her parents will not love her as much as before and will not want her any longer. Gigi comes to learn that parents have more than enough love for all of their children just as God has more than enough love for all of His, and  that to be first in life is not the most important thing in the world. That God has many more blessings in store for us than just being number one by the world’s standards. She may not be able to claim all of her parents attention, but she is still very loved. Based on  Luke 10:21.

I liked this DVD. It was simple enough for a child to easily grasp, but not so syrupy that it would be unbearable for adults to watch. The stories were short and fast paced in order to keep the child engaged.

I personally found it to be highly entertaining and would recommend it to any parent looking for wholesome family entertainment that is not only fun to watch, but teaches children the will of God, how much He loves them, and the value he places in them.

I am a member of the Thomas Nelson Book Review Blogger Program “BookSneeze”. I received a copy of this DVD free of charge in order to review it. I was not paid for this review. I also was not required to give a positive review, but to give my honest opinion of what I  felt about the product. Whether positive or negative, this is my honest opinion of the product.

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone! I know that it’s been a long while since I have updated my blog. I thought that today would be the perfect time to get back on track.

I just want to take a moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Take the time to remember the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus is one of the Greatest Gifts God has ever given us. I hope that you love Him and appreciate Him as much as I do!

Also be sure to cherish those that you love. Many people have lost loved ones this year. I know that you are hurting. But if your loved ones knew the Lord they are with Him today. Rejoice!

Don’t take your life for granted. Life is so precious and fragile. Live each day to the fullest and love everyone with your entire heart.

Once again, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I will be back with more new material in the new year. So please don’t forget to visit again.

I love you all. Be blessed

Happy Birthday Michael – Remembering Michael Jackson

I was and still am the biggest Michael Jackson fan of all time. I developed my intense love of music by listening to and studying Michael. My grandmother introduced me to Michael’s music before I was old enough to even speak. I remember many weekends when it was just the two of us together listening to Michael’s Thriller album. It was a happy time.

Eventually I grew up and played his music constantly. I was just in love with all things Michael. My Michael Jackson collection proves that. I don’t have everything. Very few people do. But, I managed to accumulate quite a bit in spite of my family not having much money. I’ve been very blessed.

I have supported Michael always. Through the thick and the thin. I didn’t become a fan of his in his death. I’ve been a fan since Thriller. When people were lying about him Continue reading

Happy Father’s Day!

I just want to take a moment to wish all of the Dad’s out there a beautiful and blessed Father’s Day! I wish that my dad could be here with me, but I like to believe that he’s up there in Heaven celebrating the day with our glorious Heavenly Father! 🙂

Enjoy your special day. And children young and old, appreciate your dad’s today and everyday. Be sure to thank God for your dad’s. And if you’ve lost your Father as I have or your Father was never there, just turn to God who is your Father in Heaven. He loves you more than any earthly father ever could. He’s waiting for you to turn to Him now. Just let His love wash over you!

Lord bless you!

The Blessing of NOW!

Look at everything as though you were seeing it for either the first or last time…then your time on earth will be filled with glory. –Betsy Smith, American Writer (1896-1972)

Life is so short. A lot of the time we just breeze through life without taking it all in. We become consumed by the concerns of this world. But, it’s important to stop for a moment and take it all in.

If you look at all that is around you as if for the first or last time it opens up a sense of wonder and appreciation in your heart for what you’ve been given. You Continue reading

Christmas Is All In The Heart

We’re living in tough times right now and people are concerned about not being able to provide a big “traditional” Christmas for their families this year. I heard it said that a woman told a friend about having a “dollar store” Christmas because she couldn’t afford toys from the major toy chains and department stores. Perhaps you can relate. I can. I also was Continue reading
