Hope Springs by Kim Cash Tate Book Review

Hope Springs is another gem written by author Kim Cash Tate. Hope Springs tells the story of Janelle Evans, Becca Anderson and Stephanie London and how their lives are forever changed when after they are brought together through tragedy.

Hope Springs is book three in a series which includes the books Faithful and Cherished. You should definitely check them out as well.

When Janelle Evans visits her Grandma Geri during the Christmas holiday and learns that she is extremely ill she decides to stay and take care of her, even though she was reluctant to return to her home town that she had been absent from since her husband died. Janelle soon finds love again. But is it meant to be?

Becca Anderson, a respected Bible teacher in her community, is finally getting to where she wants to be in her ministry. When an opportunity comes along to speak at one of the biggest Christian women’s conferences, Becca is less than thrilled when it seems as if God is calling her husband to become a Pastor. Will her Continue reading

Kingdom Lifestyle

A Kingdom Lifestyle

“Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images. And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.” Exodus 23:24-25 KJV

When people look at you and how you live your life do they know what you believe? What you stand for? Is it evident? Is your mouth saying one thing, but your lifestyle another? Are you claiming Christ, but living like a heathen. Do others see Jesus Christ in you?

God told the Israelites not to live life as or worship as the godless people around them. To stay set apart. God knew that the Israelites would lose their way and turn from Him if they weren’t careful and deliberate in how they lived their life. God is telling us to Continue reading

Cherished by Kim Cash Tate Book Review

Kim Cash Tate has done it again with another great book called “Cherished : A Novel of Unconditional Love.” “Cherished” tells the story of Kelli London, a young woman that dreamed of one day becoming a songwriter. It was her dream to touch the hearts and lives of others through music and honor God with her gift. She also dreamed about being with a man named Brian, her first and only love and high school sweetheart. She was so sure that they would one day marry and have a family. But bad decisions eventually led to tragic and devastating consequences that destroyed her long held dreams of music and love, until God opens her heart to hope and dream again through a series of love letters.

Heather Anderson has lived a life far removed from God. She’s lived Continue reading

The Shelter of God’s Promises by Sheila Walsh Book Review

Sheila Walsh’s The Shelter of God’s Promises Book Review

I thought that the book “The Shelter of God’s Promises” by Sheila Walsh was a very good book. This book is about learning about the promises that God has made to us and how to apply them to our lives. I especially liked the chapter on “Love” and the teaching about the Woman with the issue of blood from the Bible. As well as the chapter about “Hope.”

I believe that many women will learn and gain so Continue reading

Only One Life by C.T. Studd

This is a very beautiful poem by the missionary C.T. Studd. (1860-1931) I enjoyed this so much. I hope that you will enjoy it too and be blessed by it.

God bless you all,

Haneefah Turner

Only One Life by C.T. Studd

“Two little lines I heard one day,Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart, And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one, Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet, And stand before His Judgement seat;
Only one life,’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, the still small voice, Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave, And to God’s holy will to cleave;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, a few brief years, Each with its Continue reading

Morning Devotional with Charles H. Spurgeon

“His bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob.” – Gen_49:24

That strength which God gives to his Josephs is real strength; it is not a boasted valour, a fiction, a thing of which men talk, but which ends in smoke; it is true-divine strength. Why does Joseph stand against temptation? Because God gives him aid. There is nought that we can do without the power of God. All true strength comes from “the mighty God of Jacob.”

Notice in what a blessedly familiar way God gives this strength to Joseph-”The arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob.” Thus God is represented as putting his hands on Joseph’s hands, placing his arms on Joseph’s arms. Like as a father Continue reading

Morning Devotional with Charles H. Spurgeon

“Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi.”- Gen_25:11

Hagar had once found deliverance there and Ishmael had drank from the water so graciously revealed by the God who liveth and seeth the sons of men; but this was a merely casual visit, such as worldlings pay to the Lord in times of need, when it serves their turn. They cry to him in trouble, but forsake him in prosperity. Isaac dwelt there, and made the well of the living and all-seeing God his constant source of supply.

The usual tenor of a man’s life, the dwelling of his soul, is the true test of Continue reading

Morning Devotional with Charles Spurgeon

“To him be glory both now and forever.” – 2Pe_3:18

Heaven will be full of the ceaseless praises of Jesus. Eternity! thine unnumbered years shall speed their everlasting course, but forever and for ever, “to him be glory.” Is he not a “Priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek”? “To him be glory.” Is he not king for ever?-King of kings and Lord of lords, the everlasting Father? “To him be glory for ever.”

Never shall his praises cease. That which was bought with blood deserves to last while immortality endures. The glory of the cross must never Continue reading

Evening Devotional with Charles H. Spurgeon

“All they that heard it wondered at those things.” – Luk_2:18

We must not cease to wonder at the great marvels of our God. It would be very difficult to draw a line between holy wonder and real worship; for when the soul is overwhelmed with the majesty of God’s glory, though it may not express itself in song, or even utter its voice with bowed head in humble prayer, yet it silently adores.

Our incarnate God is to be worshipped as “the Wonderful.” That God should consider his fallen creature, man, and instead of sweeping him away with the besom of destruction, should himself undertake to be man’s Redeemer, and to pay his ransom price, is, indeed marvellous! But to each believer redemption is most marvellous as he Continue reading

Morning Devotional with Charles Spurgeon

I’ve always been a great fan of the work of Charles H. Spurgeon. He was truly an anointed man of God. I believe that everyone should read his work. You won’t regret it. You will learn so much.

I have decided to occasionally include some of his Morning and Evening devotionals on this blog. I know that you will enjoy them and that they will edify you. These are perfect for reading during study time with the Lord. I hope that you will come to appreciate these posts. I will also be including devotions from other men and woman of God including the continuation of my own devotionals. Please enjoy.

Lord bless you

“Your heavenly Father.” – Mat_6:26

God’s people are doubly his children, they are his offspring by creation, and they are his sons by adoption in Christ. Hence they are privileged to Continue reading
