Hope Springs is another gem written by author Kim Cash Tate. Hope Springs tells the story of Janelle Evans, Becca Anderson and Stephanie London and how their lives are forever changed when after they are brought together through tragedy.

Hope Springs is book three in a series which includes the books Faithful and Cherished. You should definitely check them out as well.

When Janelle Evans visits her Grandma Geri during the Christmas holiday and learns that she is extremely ill she decides to stay and take care of her, even though she was reluctant to return to her home town that she had been absent from since her husband died. Kim Cash Tate has done it again with another great book called “Cherished : A Novel of Unconditional Love.” “Cherished” tells the story of Kelli London, a young woman that dreamed of one day becoming a songwriter. Do you treasure the things of this world or the things of God? Answer wisely. Where you will spend eternity rests on it. Why? Because your answer may tell whether you are a way side believer, stony ground believer, thorny ground believer or a good ground believer. Mark  4:1-20 KJV

See people today think that because they made a “decision” for Christ that makes them saved. They believe that they can live however they want no matter how wild and reckless and sinful and it’s okay because they made a “decision” for Christ. That’s a popular teaching today. It’s also very wrong.

There are also those that think they’re saved because they sit in church every Sunday morning, even though they were wildin’ out in the club the night before. Or they think they are saved because they watch a little “Christian” TV from time to time, or have cute little religious figurines, photographs and what not all over the house, car or job or say a few empty prayers, amongst other things. That’s also false. Sorry to break it to you. I know it’s tough.

I don’t watch a lot of “Christian” TV, but one Sunday I decided to check out a popular preacher with the celebrities and such in L.A. And I’ll never forget when he said “ I don’t want to preach to you about sin. I just want to love on you.” I almost fell on the floor. My mouth dropped open and everything. What kind of “Pastor” doesn’t preach about sin? Because if he really loved you he would tell you to come to Christ. To come out of sin and live holy for Jesus. To give your entire life to Christ and accept His gift of eternal life. That’s real love. Unfortunately, the false “gospel” that this “Pastor” preaches is the norm today. And it’s spiritually deadly.

It’s not enough to say that you believe in Jesus. James 2:19 in the King James Bible says “ Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe and tremble.” Well we know that devils aren’t saved, so are you sure that you are? What does Continue reading →

I Won NaNoWriMo!

Hey everyone. I know that’s it’s been a while since I’ve written. But I’ve got some great news to shout about. I won NaNoWriMo!

What’s NaNoWriMo? NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It’s the time of year that comes every November when writers everywhere start losing their minds as they try to write a novel by the end of the month.

It’s all very frenetic as everyone tries to hit their 50,000 word count by November 30th. Over sixteen hundred words a day. One Thousand Six Hundred and Sixty-Seven words to be exact. That’s about 4 single spaced pages and 8 double spaced pages.

Friendship for Grownups by Lisa Whelchel Book Review

Friendships for Grown-Ups: What I Missed and Learned Along the Way by Lisa Whelchel was an excellent read. This was the first time I had ever read anything by Lisa. I had heard that she was a writer. But I did not know much about her ability as a writer or her writing style. The most I knew of Lisa was of her role as Blair on The Facts of Life and that she is a Christian. That’s not saying a lot!

I felt that Friendships for Grown-Ups was refreshing and eye opening. When we look at Celebrities we assume that they have it all together. Lisa reminds us that celebrities are people just like the rest of us. They struggle with fears and insecurities the way that we all do. From these things, like death, no one is exempt.

Comments has been fixed!

Hello everyone! I have finally fixed the problem with comments. For months people have been unable to leave comments and I could not figure out why. I had sought technical support, but didn’t receive the help that I needed.

I finally decided to take matters into my own hands! Mind you I am not the least bit savvy when it comes to matters like these. But, I sought help outside of my hosting service and found some ideas of what the trouble might be. I tried some things out and realized that it was something very simple.

Needless to say that I am incredibly happy that the problem has been resolved, but agitated that it was something so small that was causing it.  If I had even an inkling that it was something so simple I could have fixed this ages ago.

I apologize to all of those who tried to leave comments and could not.  The problem has now been resolved. Comment away!  🙂

Gigi’s Big Break DVD Review – Based on the Books Gigi, God’s Little Princess by Sheila Walsh

Sheila Walsh’s Gigi’s Big Break

Gigi’s Big Break was a wonderful DVD for young girls. Gigi’s Big Break is based on the books Gigi, God’s Little Princess, written by author, singer and former host of the 700 Club Sheila Walsh, and tells the story of  a young Christian girl named Gigi as she learns life’s lessons and how to live for the Lord.

Each DVD contains two stories and is based on a Bible verse.

In the first video “The White Lie” after breaking a vase in the living room while dancing Gigi tells many lies to try to hide her crime as well as her guilt and shame. Gigi soon learns that it does not pay to be untruthful, and that to lie will always create more problems than it solves. It is a cute story about honesty and God’s forgiveness. Based on 1 John 1:8-9.

In the second video “The Pink Surprise” all is well in Gigi’s world until she finds out that her Mother is pregnant. Initially she is very excited until her young friends lead her to believe that siblings are nothing but a pain, and that her parents will not love her as much as before and will not want her any longer. Gigi comes to learn that parents have more than enough love for all of their children just as God has more than enough love for all of His, and  that to be first in life is not the most important thing in the world. That God has many more blessings in store for us than just being number one by the world’s standards. She may not be able to claim all of her parents attention, but she is still very loved. Based on  Luke 10:21.

I liked this DVD. It was simple enough for a child to easily grasp, but not so syrupy that it would be unbearable for adults to watch. The stories were short and fast paced in order to keep the child engaged.

I personally found it to be highly entertaining and would recommend it to any parent looking for wholesome family entertainment that is not only fun to watch, but teaches children the will of God, how much He loves them, and the value he places in them.
